“Not that we hate Maisuna, but he is the only person we know. We are told that the two other guys are strangers. Why must you disrespect the elders of this community by running away from their committee?” They quizzed.

They also accused him of being a long-time gay man who has been caught on several occasions dressed like a female including in a movie he acted in recently in which he portrayed homosexual acts.

Muntala one of the elders who spoke to the media said, they were shocked to see Maisuna in such an act despite being forced to marry long ago, thus when people started suspecting him of being gay.

According to them, the original incident which happened at the Abirem was subsequently reported to the Yalwa Zongo (Central Mosque), thus after the three had run away from the Abirem palace custody.

The angry youth further revealed that since the case was reported to the Yalwa Zongo, Maisuna and his accomplices have not been seen in the area, despite several invitations by the Zongo chiefs.
