Ashanti: Young Cadres Commemorates 42nd Anniversary of the 31st December Revolution

In the commemoration of the 42nd anniversary, the young cadres of NDC have organized a workshop for its members to prepare and equip them on how to protect ballot boxes ahead of the 2024 general election in the Ashanti Region.

The celebration themed “Building the Ghana we want: Revisiting the Decade that Stopped the Decay 1982-1992.”

NDC-31ST December Revolution Celebration which was held at Aboabo in the Asawasi Constituency in the Ashanti Region was an event that featured the functional members of the NDC, the cadre corps, such as Hon. Johnny Osei Kofi the former deputy chief of staff, Hon. Mary Dwantoaa the former MCE for Bekwai Constituency of Ashanti, and the Regional Coordinator for the Young Cadres, Mr. Maxwell Deku alongside traditional authorities and stalwarts of the party.

The 31st December Revolution holds enduring political significance in Ghana’s history. As the NDC commemorates this event, it reinforces its identity as a political force shaped by the ideals of the revolution.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Johnny Osei Kofi the former deputy chief of staff, said the NDC’s celebration of the 42nd anniversary of the 31st December Revolution is a momentous occasion that goes beyond mere remembrance. It signifies a commitment to the principles that underpinned the revolution and a recognition of the role the party continues to play in Ghana’s political landscape.

Since it is believed that the elections were won at the pooling station, he asked the Cadres to protect the ballot box to the best of their abilities and to exercise caution when counting the votes cast.

Hon. Mary Dwantoaa the former MCE for Bekwai Constituency in turn took the opportunity to advise the female politicians to work hard to get their dreams come to realization.

She said there would be no success without hindrance but women are capable of overcoming their dreams through hard work hence encouraging the young women who are interested in politics to continue working hard to enable them to ascertain their goals.

In addition, the Ashanti Regional Coordinator of the Young Cadres, Mr. Maxwell Deku assured that the cadres have identified 18 constituencies in the region where they will retrieve the seats for NDC come the election 2024.

He, however, appeals to the party’s authorities to give them the needed support for the accomplishment of their goals.
