Bawumia Burglary: Police pick up 4 people

The Walewale Divisional Police Command in the North East Region has arrested four(4) persons for allegedly burgling the home of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

MyNewsGh.com on Thursday, November 7, 2019, reported of how some criminals broke into the home of the second gentleman of the country at Kperiga in Walewale in the West Mamprusi District of the North East Region and made away with some belongings.

Though police have confirmed the break-in to this portal, they are tight-lipped over how it all happened. A source that pleaded strict anonymity, disclosed that the burglars scaled through the wall and forcibly broke into the rooms.

They made away with television sets, decoders and other valuables.

It is gathered that the four suspects have been arrested upon a tipoff and are currently in custody assisting with investigations and could be arraigned before the court later today November 8, 2019.

Meanwhile, MyNewsGh.com is gathering that five other houses were also attacked the same night by the suspects.

According to Kombat Joe, a victim, the burglars made away with several of his personal belongings.

Police have confirmed same and intensified patrols within the vicinity to guarantee the security of residents who say they are living in fear after the incident.
