Court fines Ghanaian musician for stealing at shoprite

An Accra Circuit Court has sentenced a 30-year-old Ghanaian musician to a fine of GH¢2,400 for stealing various items at the West Hills Mall branch of Shoprite.

The young man identified as David Ike is also to serve a three months jail term.

The items stolen were Cling Cracker biscuit, one cake of Medi Soft soap, two pieces of Lindor chocolate, two sets of floral tissue, underwear, two plastic bottles of water, one packet of Burger peanuts and one bag, all totaling an amount of GH¢167.65.

Passing sentence, the presiding judge, Ms. Ruby Naa Ayitey said the evidence produced by the prosecution against the convict was overwhelming.
