DON’T BRING BALLOT BOXES HERE IF YOU DON’T FIX OUR DEATH TRAP BRIDGE – AKYEM DOME CHIEF WARNS

The chief and Residents of Akyem Dome in the Fanteakwa South District of the Eastern Region have threatened to boycott the 2024 general elections over what they call a death trap bridge in the area.

The chief and his residents said they have constantly complained about the poor nature of the uncompleted bridge but authorities have refused to come to their aid.

The death trap nature of the bridge they say is posing danger to their school children and the age as well as their farming activities which is the source of their livelihoods.

Speaking at a press conference today, the chief of Akyem Dome, Barima Amoako Affum ii warned all political parties not to step their foot in his town during the election day if they don’t fix their bridge.

Barima Amoako Affum added that no political party should campaign in the town until the bridge is fixed and put to use.

Nana indicated the Bridge was awarded for contract two years ago with some drainage systems done but the work has been abandoned.

Barima Amoako Affum ii appealed to the GOVERNMENT and the Fanteakwa South DCEs, Hon. Ernest Fosu to get the contractor back to the location and complete the death trap Bridge.
