Counselor Charlotte Oduro is one of the marriage counselors who has given young people advice that has caused trouble. She has given married people who are unhappy with their marriages another piece of advice.
The counselor said on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM’s Weekend Morning show that marriage is meant to be enjoyed, not endured, so if someone’s life is in danger, they should leave the marriage.
“Marriage is important, but your life is also important, so if your life is in danger, you should be brave and end the marriage. People will talk, but that’s not what matters most. If your life is in danger, please make the right choice and end the marriage.”
She told host Nhyiraba Asirifi, “The Bible tells Christians not to get divorced, but if your life is in danger, be smart.” Separate yourself, and God will take care of the rest. Let your partner decide if they want to divorce or not. But don’t jeopardize your life. It is valuable, and you should treat it with care.
