Eastern Regional NPP threaten to Chase Out Hooligans NDC’s who intend to Disrupt EC Registration

 

The Eastern Regional General secretary of the ruling New Patriot Party(NPP) Hon. Jeff Konadu on behalf of the party has warned the National Democratic Congress(NDC) to desist hooligans which intend to disrupt the registration exercise by the Electoral Commission.

Addressing the media in a press conference held at the party’s regional office in the Eastern Regional Capital Koforidua the Communications Director of the party Mr. David Prah also affirmed what Hon. Konadu indicated at the press conference.

The Regional Executives took the opportunity to congratulate both those who won and lost just an ended parliamentary primaries in the Region.

NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY (NPP) EASTERN REGIONAL SECRETARIAT
KOFORIDUA.

This past Saturday, electorates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) held elections for their primaries to elect able men and women to lead their party in the forthcoming elections on 7th December, 2020.

A press statement has been issued to that effect on the outcome of the elections at the various municipalities and other matters arising as aftermath of the election.

Mr. Jeff Konadu Addo, the Eastern Regional Secretary of the party briefed party supporters in the region and all NPP lovers and well-wishers with the following statistics from the election that was carried out on Saturday, the 20th day of June,2020.

The statistics are as follows;
A total number of fifty – two (52) aspirants, comprising seven (7) females and forty – five (45) males, contested in 15 out of the 27 constituencies in the Region.

The secretary indicated that, “twelve (12) sitting Members of Parliament (MPs) went unopposed and have gone through popular acclamation at their various constituencies.

The leadership of the NPP in the Region wishes to congratulate all aspirants for putting up themselves for the contest.

To the fifteen (15) elected Parliamentary Candidates (PCs) and 12 MPs we say “Ayekoo” for a well-deserved victory. This is not a personal victory, but a victory for the NPP since the real battle lies ahead on how to defeat the clueless NDC for a second time under the Akufo-Addo Bawumia ticket”.

The list of candidates of the NPP in the upcoming parliamentary elections includes in the Eastern Region includes;

The secretary assured party members that the party is adequately prepared and well poised for the forthcoming election not only to win but to win handsomely with wide vote margins both Presidential and Parliamentary elections in December this year.
He entreated all those who won to jubilate consciously to run an all-inclusive campaign as known of the NPP.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, it is ironic that the NDC who started her parliamentary primaries about a year ago has still not been able to attain the full complement of their parliamentary candidates.

They have successfully affirmed their undisputed incompetent title once again.

The NDC is struggling to get party members to represent them for the upcoming parliamentary elections and it demonstrates the mass rejection of Mr. John Mahama’s second term bid even among their ranks the secretary asserted”.

How can Ghanaians entrust the governance of the nation into the hand of this create – loot – share incompetent NDC, Mr. Jeff Konadu Addo questioned?

He dared the NDC to name their parliamentary candidates for New Juaben North, Akuapem North, Fanteakwa South and Fanteakwa North, Atiwa East and West, Mpraeso and Abetifi.

On Covid 19, he stated that the party observed all the social protocols and measures put in place by the Government in order to control the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.
The use of face masks and sanitizers, as well as the social distancing protocols coupled with washing of hands with soap under running water was evident at the polling stations.

The secretary stated that at the parliamentary levels it is the electorates who have the power to give MPs the nod therefore sitting Mps leaving parliament is the choice of the people and that their experience will be used to champion the NPP to victory come December.

The eastern regional secretary stated that the Party in the Region is going to roll out monumental developments that have been undertaken by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in coming weeks.

Mr. Jeff Konadu Addo assured the Electoral Commission (EC) that the party is ready to cooperate with the independent body for the scheduled registration for a new voter’s register in preparation for the upcoming election.

And that they will not interfere in the EC’s work to carry out its Constitutional mandate like the NDC is opposing.

The Eastern Regional Secretary’s final words were that, “we urge Ghanaians to continue to stand by the Akufo-Addo administration since the policy direction of this government gives clear indication that Ghana is on an unprecedented and aggressive developmental path”.
