ECG Board Chairman Keli Gadzekpo steps down after serving in the position for years. The board will begin the search for a new chairman to lead the company forward. Keli Gadzekpo has resigned as the board chairman of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) effective April 9, 2024.

In a letter to President Akufo-Addo on Tuesday (March 26), Gadzekpo cited personal reasons for his decision to resign. He thanked the president for the opportunity to serve the country for the past seven years “in this significant role.”

Gadzekpo also wished the Electricity Company of Ghana and the government continued success in their efforts to provide stable electricity for the country.

Ghana has been experiencing power outages for months now. The cause of the situation hasn’t been communicated to Ghanaians, and no load shedding table has been released. The Minister of Energy recently asked Ghanaians to set their own timetable if they think DUMSOR is back. Could the situation be the reason he’s resigned?
