Fire sweeps through Timber Market in Accra

A wooden storey building structure housing about 50 people in the Timber Market in Accra has been ravaged by fire, early Monday morning.

The blaze, which started at about 7:33 am destroyed several items.

Residents have attributed the cause of the fire to the recent intermittent power outages in the area.

Fire Service personnel have managed to douse the fire, however lack of access to the market slowed down efforts to put out the fire.
