IN JUST TWO WEEKS, MORE THAN 400 PREPAID METERS WERE STOLEN IN THE ANYAA ELECTORAL AREA, ASSEMBLYMAN EXPRESSED CONCERN

Hon. Michael Acquah, the assembly member representing the Anyaa West electoral area in the Greater Accra region, expressed his concerns this morning during a news conference held at his office over the theft of more than 400 prepaid meters in the area over the previous two weeks.

Hon. Michael Acquah stated at the press conference that there are a lot of social vices still prevalent in his electoral area of which he had established a watchdog committee to address the issue of some well-known males assaulting market women in the early hours of the day.

He continued by saying that the theft of prepaid meters in his electoral area has been his current concern. Even after reporting it to the police and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), the evil deed persists.

“So far, there have been about 400 prepaid meters stolen”, He said.

He therefore calls on the police to intensify the security system in the area to help bring the situation under control as we enter into the Christmas season of the year.
