INFOGRAPHIC: 11 years since the Marikana Massacre

On 16th August 2012, miners on strike had a confrontation with police, after which 34 were killed and 78 injured. The killings happened during the six-week unprotected strike by the miners at the Lonmin Platinum Mine, in Marikana near Rustenburg.
