Minister for Sanitation, has hailed the contribution of the JOSPONG Group of Companies in the waste management sector charging Ghanaians not to hesitate to acknowledge the efforts of the company which birthed giant waste management company, Zoomlion.
Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah implored that in instances where the company faults, their attention should quickly be drawn for the necessary correction and improvement.
“We must all congratulate JOSPONG Group of Companies for what they have achieved so far.
We must not hesitate to acknowledge what they are doing right and also draw their attention to what they can do better to improve on what they are doing”, she said.
The Minister, who said this at the company’s annual thanksgiving service praised highly, the Executive Chairman of JOSPONG Group of Companies Dr Joseph Siaw Agyapong, for his relentless roles in the fight against insanitary condition across the country.
She said “What he is doing is in line with government vision to make Accra clean and to make Ghana a cleaner and healthier for all of us to dwell in.
JOSPONG Group of Companies led by the indefatigable, humble, God fearing, I don’t know the words to use, I believe we couldn’t have had a better leader to lead this group”.
The Friday December 10, 2021 event which climaxed a 5-day thanksgiving service, brought together several dignitaries including the clergy, Members of Parliament (MPs), Metropolitan, Municipal, District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), traditional rulers, political heads, was held in Accra.
The Sanitation Minister who has been a regular participant of the annual service, commended the company for always seeking the face of God in all it endevours saying it is an initiative that must be kept and followed by others in the corporate world.
Speaking on behalf of the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Madam Dapaah, traced the successes chalked by the company since it inception over fifteen years ago, to it sustained efforts to always involve God in all it activities.
“They have found the key to God’s heart and the key is praise and worship as they continue to do this every year. I don’t know but I suspect that they even add a week of fasting to all this to set the base for what they do to praise the Lord.
So the secret of the success of the JOSPONG Group of companies we all know is what they do. They worship God and that becomes their weapon even as they glorify the Most High God. It is indeed a great pleasure to join the annual ritual of thanksgiving unto the Lord Jehovah.
Last year, I was here and it coincided with my birthday. I had a beautiful cake to cut and it was quite memorable. Deservedly so, this company knows the basis for this worship and the basis for their strategic success in this country.
They have taken very bold at times very risky decisions to be where they are, the others should follow suit”, she advised.
The Minister added “These moves and decisions that they take and are not taking it lightly; it takes a bold and confident person and leadership to be able to do this and the management have had to seek the face of God with prayer and simplification to be successful in all that they do.
They have continued to seek wisdom from the Lord because this work, you cannot do it with your naked eyes, you need the support and I can see and say on authority that, the leadership is always surrounded by the clergy.
There is even a chaplain who officially works with JOSPONG Group of companies and that is a mark of someone who always wants to have the presence of God around him the annual thanksgiving is of great importance because like I said I feel it as a spiritual renewal of the group.
They want to continue their success by always dwelling in the presence of God almighty, it is always the day their greatest thanksgiving is offered openly, not in hiding but openly to the world for the world to know that indeed they indeed appreciate where God has brought them from and where he is taking them to”.
She assured government will continue to support and great the enabling environment for all while encouraging other private individuals to take the giant step into the sanitation space by “adding value.
What he is doing is in line with government vision to make Accra clean and to make Ghana a cleaner and healthier for all of us to dwell in”.
