A Kumasi family is living a nightmare, haunted by the unsolved murder of their loved one, 48-year-old Akwasi Baako, also known as Kudjo Kibbs. The man was brutally killed in his own bedroom in Kumasi Pankrono Kodua on March 6th, and now, his family fears justice is slipping through their fingers.
On what should have been a day of national celebration, Ghana’s Independence Day, the family received the devastating news that Akwasi was “sick.” But the truth was far more horrifying: he had been murdered, the scene pointing to a violent home invasion.
While police investigations led to the arrest of one suspect living in the same house, two other individuals reportedly implicated by the arrested suspect remain at large. Despite providing names, photos, and phone numbers, these alleged killers are still on the run.
The Asona royal family from Kumawu Bodomase is now making a desperate plea to the newly appointed IGP, COP Tetteh Yehonu, do not let these killers escape justice”.
They are also urging the entire police force and the public to step forward with any information that could lead to their capture as the family’s pain remains unimaginable.
