“RIVER BODIES ARE FURIOUS OVER GALAMSEY ASCENDENCY” — Fetish Priest says.

The Fetish Priest of Abofrem at the Atwima Mponuah District in the Ashanti Region, Okomfo Baffour Gyau says, the powers and spirits in the River bodies protecting Ghana are unhappy over the rise of illegal Minding in recent days.

Speaking with the media on sunday during his usual visit to the township, the Oracle expressed displeasure about the rate at which illegal mining (galamsey) has risen even after the president of Ghana, Nana Akuffo Addo put his presidency on the line to wage war against the menace.

In his assertions, he attributed the rampant accidents cases recorded at daily basis to the disrespectful acts showcased by Ghanaians to the Rivers and gods.

“The deliberate excavation of the environment through this galamsey is really disturbing the gods and the river bodies…this is because, the ‘habitats’ are destructed and this has invited the wrath of the gods” Okomfo Baffour Gyau added.

He cautioned the need of the government to double up efforts to make sure the canker is Curtail otherwise, the nation will experience the worse .

“Ghana in the next few years will import drinking water from other countries if care is not taken, It is an eyesore when you visit the big rivers in the country which some years in the past serve as a source of human survival but now turned into Muddy and swampy” He said.

Nana Gyau in his lamentations called on the attention of the Chiefs to join hands aiding the Fight against the illegal mining.

According to him, it’s about time the Chiefs display powers to the politicians that, they are indeed the true Custodians of the Lands and should not surrender to the intimidation from these political actors.
