The VRA Director says that bats are the cause of the power outages in Dormaa Ahenkro and its surroundings

Recent power outages (Dumsor) in Dormaa Ahenkro, the Bono Region, and the surrounding area have had a detrimental impact on local businesses and production.

Speaking to the Dormaa Municipal Director of the Volta River Authority/ NEDCo, Mr John Anim, he noted that the fluctuations over the past two (2) days were a result of a fault that was developed at the Nkrankwanta power station which eventually affected Dormaa Ahenkro and other Surrounding areas.

He noted that the power outage for the past two days at Nkrankwata station was a result of a Bat bridging the yellow phase and the cross-arm on a metal Pole that went to the grounds with small showers which was identified today, Monday, November 13, 2023, by Dormaa staff at around 6:14 am.

Some of the Residents who depend on electricity for their businesses and daily activities expressed their displeasure to the Volta River Authority and called on the necessary leaders to fix the lighting problems in the area since it has become a canker that keeps deteriorating their businesses
