The affected people were traders who sell along the roadside.

The 40-footer truck with the registration number AW 8877-11 is said to have burst two of its tires and as the driver tried to stabilize the vehicle, the truck fell on its side.

In the process, five persons were injured and several shops and items worth thousands of cedis were destroyed.

The injured persons were rushed to Mankessim Roman Hospital for treatment.
