CONCERN YOUTH OF AKUAPEM NORTH SUSPEND PROTEST

 

The Concern Youth of Akuapem North Municipality in the Eastern Region has suspended demonstration today 12th July, 2023.

The Concern Youth earlier planned to protest to register their displeasure of Police Post and Streetlights in the area.

The Concern Youth leader, Ahmed Agbenyadzi has bemoaned the lack of Police Post, Streetlights to spearhead crimes and insecurity in Akuapem North Municipality.
He said Police Post, Streetlights are needed to enable Police Officers to respond to incidents of crimes in the areas, improve security and protection of life and properties.

The youths noted that Mamfe and Safiro communities were experiencing high rates of insecurity, stressing that the situation was a results of the absence of Police Post and Streetlights.

After a crunchy meeting with Eastern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Twumasi Ankrah and Akropong Divisional Comands has assured the youth that in two weeks the problems would be solved.

“To maintain sanity in these communities as we agreed to suspend the protest, we appeal to the authorities to help establish Police Post, fix streetlights to assist curb heinous acts” they said.
