Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum envisions a Ghana elevated from poverty

Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe and New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer hopeful, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has expressed his vision of leading Ghana to a future free from poverty. He revealed that his decision to contest the NPP flagbearership stems from his desire to transform lives and elevate the nation across all sectors.

Speaking during a meeting with past and current leaders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bono East Region, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum said his ambition is to unite the party and lead it to victory in the 2028 general elections.

Dr. Adutwum, who previously served as Ghana’s Minister for Education, said he believes that under his leadership, the NPP can return to power and pursue an inclusive development agenda focused on education, agriculture, mechanization, and poverty reduction.

“I came here purposely to meet with both past and current leaders of the New Patriotic Party to share my vision and goals for the party and to discuss how best I can lead us to victory in the 2028 elections.

”By the grace of God, and with the support of all party members, I am confident that I will lead the NPP to victory. Our goal is to return to power to help elevate Ghana in all sectors; education, agriculture, mechanization and to lift Ghanaians out of poverty.” He said.

The Bosomtwe legislator further stated that Ghana has the potential to replicate the success stories of other nations that have lifted their citizens out of poverty, adding that with visionary leadership, the country can achieve remarkable progress.

”Many nations have successfully lifted their people out of poverty, and Ghana has the potential to do the same. With the right leadership, which I believe I can offer as Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party and subsequently as President of the Republic of Ghana, we can achieve this.”

Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum encouraged members of the party not to lose faith, noting that the delegates he interacted with were highly receptive to his message and view him as a unifier capable of bridging internal divisions within the NPP.

He assured that his campaign would be devoid of personal attacks, emphasizing that it would focus instead on his ideas, vision, and commitment to national development.

”I want to encourage all members of the NPP not to lose faith in the party. The delegates I met today were very happy because they see me as a unifier, someone capable of bringing all factions of the party together to secure victory.

”During my engagement with them, I did not make any statements to tarnish the image of other candidates. Everything I said focused on my vision for the party, my plans for the nation, and how best I can contribute to Ghana’s development.” He said.

The flagbearer hopeful expressed optimism about the party’s prospects ahead of the 2028 general elections, emphasizing the need for unity and a shared sense of purpose. He called for collective effort and determination, asserting that the NPP remains the party best positioned to advance Ghana’s development agenda.

”The future of our party is very bright. What we need now is a unifier, someone who can bring all members together and champion our common goal of returning the NPP to power.

”The progress of Ghana depends on the New Patriotic Party, and with me as Flagbearer, we will approach the 2028 elections with a united front and surely return to power to continue developing our country.” He told the gathering.
