Ghana will hold the WAFU Zone B U-17 Cup of Nations – LOC claims, describe as “spectacular.”

Ghana will hold the WAFU Zone B U-17 Cup of Nations, which the LOC describes as “spectacular.” The tournament will feature eight teams from West Africa competing for the spot. This event aims to showcase the talent and potential of young football players in the country.

Ghana will battle it out against Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Togo, Niger, and Benin for regional glory and a coveted qualification spot for the 2025 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 2024 West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B U-17 Cup of Nations, Gideon Fosu, has promised a “spectacular” tournament when it kicks off in Accra, Ghana, next month.

Fosu, speaking to ghanafa.org after a LOC meeting on Tuesday (April 23), expressed his confidence in delivering the best edition of the competition yet.

“I think the LOC is poised to make sure that the experience for this U-17 tournament is exceptional,” Fosu declared. “We’re seeking to bring something new to this tournament. Hopefully, Ghanaians and our West African counterparts will see a spectacular tournament in Accra.”

“We have already started work but this serves as a guide for us to continue what we have started or to add on to what we have started. So, I think the meeting was fruitful,” Fosu concluded.

The WAFU Zone B U-17 Cup of Nations will be held from 15-19 May. Hosts Ghana will battle it out against Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Togo, Niger and Benin for regional glory and a coveted qualification spot for the 2025 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
