I won’t campaign for NPP in 2024 if Ashanti region isn’t developed – Kusi Boafo

Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Public Sector Reforms Mr. Thomas Kusi Boafo has told the leadership of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) not to rely on him to campaign for the party in 2022 if there is no development in the Ashanti region.

There is the perception that this NPP government has abandoned the Ashanti region in terms of development.

The party’s stronghold has been derived of good roads, street light and many other amenities needed to make life better for residents.

In a recent press conference by some section of the youth in the region, they indicated that claims that NPP is in their DNA is a thing of the past.

They explained that their vote will only be for political parties that will not neglect them after winning power.

Reacting to the calls for development in the Ashanti Region, Kusi Boafo who is a leading member of the governing political party indicated that he cannot join the party’s campaign in the region of no development is seen before 2024.

“I’ve spoken to them that with regards to the roads in Kumasi if nothing is done about them I just Boafo cannot join the campaign in the Ashanti region. I won’t join because a lot has happened and I can’t list sit there and watch. We have done some but some major face lifts to make Kumasi what it is should be done,” he said on Wontumi Radio.
