President John Dramani Mahama paid a visit to survivors of the heinous Burkina Faso terrorist attack at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra yesterday, February 18, 2026.
The victims, Ghanaian tomato traders, were ambushed by armed assailants while traveling on a truck, resulting in the loss of seven lives.
Accompanied by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, President Mahama expressed his condolences to the survivors and assured them of government support, covering their medical expenses.

“The government will ensure that those affected receive the necessary care and attention,” he said.
The survivors were airlifted home by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and are receiving counseling and medical treatment. The President’s visit underscores the government’s commitment to supporting victims of terrorism.
The attack has raised concerns about the safety of Ghanaian traders in the region, with tomato traders warning of a potential price surge due to disrupted supply chains.
