Nana Boakye Ameyaw Pemtemprem II, Nifahene and Aduanahene of the Techiman Traditional Area, has stated that peace remains the foundation for the development of every community and country.
Addressing a gathering at the Techiman Aduana Royal Palace during the 2025 Munufie Yam Festival, he noted that no nation can achieve meaningful development without peace and stability.
“Peace is very important for the development of every community, and without peace, no country can develop. We can all bear witness to what has been happening in some communities in the northern part of our country.” Nana Boakye Ameyaw Pemtemprem II stated.
He cautioned that if immediate measures are not taken to address the unrest in some northern communities, it may gradually spread to the southern part of the country, which could have dire consequences.
“If care is not taken and measures are not put in place to curb it, such unrest may extend to the southern part of the country, and that would not be good for any of us.” He warned.
The Techiman Nifahene therefore urged Ghanaians to champion peace and unity in their various communities to safeguard national development.
“I urge all of us here to become ambassadors of peace. We should preach peace and peaceful coexistence to enable us to develop as a country.”
