Singer Alizee’s husband sentenced to death for her 2018 murder

Danish citizen, Peter Nielsen, who was the husband of late Nigerian singer, Zainab Joy Nielsen, better known as Alizee, has been sentenced to death by hanging for his involvement in her 2018 murder.

A Lagos High Court presided over by Justice Bolanle Okikiolu-Ighile, on Friday, May 20, 2022, found him guilty of the murder of his wife and their three-year-old daughter, Petra in their Ocean Parade Towers, Banana Island on April 5, 2018.

Mr Neilsen was sentenced to death by hanging on both counts for smothering his victims although he pleaded not guilty.

The late Alizee was mourned by family and fans over her tragic death with many calling for justice.

The singer who died at age 29 was famed for songs, ‘Come and Take’, ‘Masa’ and ‘Greenlight’.
