A female cop identified only as Corporal Agartha has been shot dead by unknown gunmen adorned in military camouflage.
The incident occurred Tuesday around 10.30pm at a checkpoint at a Star Oil Filling Station near Tamale, the Northern regional crime officer Superintendent Otuo Acheampong confirmed the news to Starr News.
The gunmen took away two riffles – one belonging to the deceased and another belonging to a female police woman who fled the scene.
The deceased attached to the Tamale Court was dispatched together with a female colleague and a male constable to the checkpoint strategically positioned at the Service station to provide indirect security services to the filling station at the same time check motorists plying the road.
The police have launched investigations into the incident.
