The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Techiman, Hon. Kwaku Adjei Mensah, has inspected several ongoing development projects within the municipality and expressed satisfaction with the progress of work.
The inspection tour, conducted together with the Municipal Coordinating Director, engineers from the Assembly, members of the media, and some National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters, took the team to various project sites across the municipality.
The team first visited Fiaso to assess a five-kilometer road project leading to the town’s dumping site and later inspected an ultra-modern six-unit classroom block with auxiliary facilities at the Fiaso M/A Cluster of Schools “C.” Contractors working on these projects assured the MCE of their commitment to delivering quality and durable work.
The delegation also visited Abreka, where a new CHPS compound is under construction to serve surrounding communities such as Yepemso, Kramokrom, Bregiso, Akokobenomsou, and others, before concluding the tour at the Nana Ameyaw Park in Techiman to inspect ongoing improvement works there.
Speaking to the media after the tour, Hon. Kwaku Adjei Mensah commended the contractors for the progress made so far and encouraged them to maintain high standards to ensure quality and value for money. He also explained the motive behind the tour.
The MCE further disclosed that at the Techiman Ohene Ameyaw Park, the Assembly is undertaking two key projects, the renovation of dressing rooms and other facilities, and the construction of a new big hall and office to meet the Club Licensing Board standards.
“We began our inspections at Fiaso, where we inspected the construction of a five-kilometer road project, which I know that, all things being equal, the road will be completed in the next two to three weeks. The Municipal Assembly is constructing a six-unit classroom block with auxiliary facilities at Fiaso to help improve the standard of education in the community and the municipality at large.
“We are also constructing a CHPS compound at Abreka, which will not serve only the people of Abreka but also those in the surrounding communities such as Yepemso, Kramokrom, Bregiso, Akokobenomsou, and other communities.
“We ended the tour at the Techiman Ohene Ameyaw Park, where the Assembly is currently undertaking two projects — the renovation of dressing rooms and other facilities, and the construction of a new big hall and an office to meet the Club Licensing Board standards. The works at the Ameyaw Park are 85% complete.” He said.
Hon. Adjei Mensah explained that all the ongoing projects are being financed through the Municipal Assembly’s Common Fund and the Internally Generated Fund (IGF).
“All these projects are being funded by the Municipal Assembly’s Common Fund. Aside from the projects we went to inspect, we are in the process of awarding ten mechanized boreholes for various communities in the municipality.”
Reiterating his commitment to quality and accountability, the MCE warned contractors against using inferior materials, stating that political considerations will not influence enforcement of standards.

“Under my watch, I won’t tolerate shordy works from any contractor and the projects we inspected today should tell you that I mean business so far as quality works are concerned.
“I will personally visit all the projects sites to ensure that the contractors does a good job and any contractor irrespective of their political affiliation who will be found using inferior materials for the projects will be seriously dealt with in accordance with the laws of the country.”
According to him, he will ensure that every project undertaken in the municipality reflects value for money.
“Even if the contractor is from my own party, the NDC, I will make sure quality work is done. Every project must represent value for money.” He said.
