The Techiman South Municipal Director of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Mr. Ibrahim Fuseini Beagrin, has clarified concerns surrounding the ongoing security service recruitment, following complaints by some beneficiaries of YEA security models who claim they were promised consideration during recruitment.
Speaking on the issue, Mr. Beagrin explained that although such a promise was made, it was not intended to apply to the current recruitment exercise.
He explained that the Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency, Mr. Malik Basintale had earlier clarified the timeline for such consideration.
“Many people are complaining that there was a promise that beneficiaries of the various YEA security models would be considered during security service recruitment.
“While such a promise was indeed made, we should not forget that our Chief Executive Officer also stated clearly that this consideration will begin after beneficiaries have completed their two-year contract with the YEA. Therefore, the promise does not apply to the current security service recruitment exercise.”
The Techiman South YEA Municipal Director further stressed that discipline remains a core requirement within the security services, noting that mere participation in any YEA security model does not guarantee automatic consideration.
“The security services are built on discipline. Being a beneficiary of any YEA security service model does not automatically guarantee consideration if one fails to demonstrate discipline under their respective commanders.”
He therefore encouraged beneficiaries currently serving under the YEA security models to remain committed to their duties and adhere strictly to the instructions of their commanders.
“I therefore encourage all current beneficiaries under the YEA security service models to remain disciplined and strictly follow the instructions of their commanders. When the time is due, those who meet the required standards will be given the opportunity to join the main security services.”
