Trotro Drivers Suspend Strike Action

Commercial transport bus drivers have been asked to suspend their ongoing strike action.

Commercial vehicle drivers today, December 6, refused to convey passengers to protest the recent fuel price increments.

Their action caused many commuters great difficulties to reach their workplaces and various destinations.

A current message from the Ghana Private Road Transport Union of TUC to striking drivers directs them to immediately resume normal duties.

A statement issued by the General Secretary, Godfred Abulbire, says the leadership of the Union has been invited to the Presidency to resolve the drivers’ concerns.

“Development will be communicated to the drivers. We therefore entreat our cherished members to go back to their normal duties,” a part of the statement read.
