Vehicle carrying 88 parcels of narcotics ‘branded MTN’ impounded, two arrested

Koforidua District Police command in Eastern Region has impounded a Toyota Camry and retrieved eighty-eight (88) compressed and parceled substance believed to be Marijuana.

Two suspects Solomon Agomadzi ,27, and Bernard Favor ,28, who were aboard the vehicle have been arrested.

Sources indicate that on February 18,2022 at about 1:00am while the Koforidua District Police night patrol team led by Inspector Eric Adjei together with Sargeant Gladys Amoa Bludo as well as Corporal Emmanuel Aidoo and Corporal Gideon Mensah (police service driver) were on their routine patrols in New Juaben Municipality, noticed a Black and White coloured Toyota Camry with registration number AC 660-21 at Koforidua-Ada heading towards Koforidua township.

The police officers suspected something fishy about the movement of the vehicle at that wee hours hence stopped the vehicle to interrogate the occupants and search the vehicle .

The occupants of the vehicle were incoherent hence the vehicle was a searched where 88 parcels of suspected narcotics with inscription “MTN” were found concealed in the vehicle.

They Suspects were immediately arrested and sent to the Police station where their caution statements were taken.

They admitted ownership of the items saying they went for it at Dzamene in Volta Region and were transporting to Kumasi in Ashanti Region .

They however said the vehicle belonged to a friend who lives on Obuasi in Ashanti Region.

The vehicle have been impounded while the suspects detained to be arraigned in Court .
