Voters Exhibition exercise: EC chair assures the inclusion of all illegible voters before general elections

The electoral commission of Ghana has opened the voters register for exhibition exercise and correction of individual details in the register ahead of the local governance election slated for December 2023 and subsequent elections.

Speaking to Mr. Francis Owiredu, the Dormaa Central Municipal Director of the Electoral Commission he said the exhibition processes enable the electoral commission to detect and correct errors associated with details of the voter’s Identity Card (ID) to stimulate peaceful voting operations adding that it helps in the detection and annulment of unqualified names from the register.

He said his outfit has ensured a successful exhibition since the exercise commenced on Friday and so efforts are being put in place to ensure all legible registered voters are captured in the Voter register before the 2024 general elections for successful electoral processes pleading that all persons must exercise patience at the exhibition venues in case there is an omission of names and other details.

Mr. Francis Owiredu finally advised all well-meaning Ghanaians and voters to visit their polling centers for the exhibition exercise since today ends the process adding that one can present the death certificate or burial permit of their dead relatives to ensure their names are erased from the books of the electoral commission to enhance transparent and peaceful voting processes.
