The Bono East Regional Manager of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Mr. Alfred Basum, has announced that the regional office is fully prepared to roll out a 24-hour service in line with the President’s vision of a 24-hour economy.
He explained that the initiative, spearheaded by the national management of the DVLA, aims to extend operational hours beyond the traditional 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. schedule, beginning in 2026. This move is designed to make DVLA services more accessible and convenient for customers across the country.
“In line with the President’s vision of a 24-hour economy, the management of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) is introducing a 24-hour service policy. This means that beginning in 2026, the current 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. working hours will be extended, allowing us to continue serving our cherished customers beyond regular hours.
“The Bono East Regional Office of the DVLA is fully prepared for this transition to a 24-hour service. We have adequate facilities and dedicated staff ready to serve our customers.
He explained that the Authority will soon engage clients and stakeholders to share further details about the new arrangement, which is expected to be implemented not only in the Bono East Region but across all DVLA operational centers, particularly in the regional capitals.

The announcement coincided with the observance of Customer Service Week, a global event celebrated every October to recognize and appreciate customers of both public and private institutions.
Mr. Alfred Basum noted that although the Authority consistently strives to deliver excellent service to its clients, extra effort is made during Customer Service Week to further enhance customer satisfaction.
“Customer Service Week is a global celebration held every October to recognize and appreciate customers of institutions that provide public and private services.
“During this special week, we go the extra mile to make our customers happier and more comfortable by improving our service delivery and exceeding their expectations.
