CAF Confederation Cup winner Acquaah Harrison says he is been left impoverished despite giving his all during his career.
Harrison had a glittering career with Hearts of Oak where he was key figure in the squad which beat rivals Asante Kotoko to win the maiden continental competition.
Despite all the sacrifices on the pitch, the former Power FC defender says he no financial benefits and has declared himself broke. .
He told Angel FM in Accra: “If I tell you I am broke, you won’t believe it. I signed two years contract with Hearts of Oak worth ten million old cedis (now 1000 cedis) but I only got six million (now 600 cedis) out of it.”
“Clubs won’t give players money they deserve but will rather use it on something different.”
Harrison was assistant coach at Division One League side Eleven Wise.
