Fear grips Teshie residents as LEKMA doctor tests positive of corovirus

The test result for a medical doctor at the Ledzokuku Municipal Hospital (LEKMA Hospital) at Teshie, Greater Accra Region, has come in positive for COVID-19.

It is not clear how the doctor got infected.

He has not shown any signs of the disease.

Subsequently, the theatre of the hospital has been shut down for disinfection today, Tuesday.

Following the news of the doctor’s test, some residents in the area who have been using the facility, as well as some health workers who may have come into contact with the doctor in their line of duty, have expressed fear and anxiety.

Ghana has, so far, recorded five deaths from the virus out of the one hundred fifty-two people infected with two recoveries.
